Now your keys, buttons and loose change have a place to rest. This little dish is a reminder that it’s all in a day's work
Founded in 1986 by husband-and-wife duo Julie Gaines and David Lenovitz, Fishs Eddy began by chance — when the pair got lost in Upstate New York and stumbled upon a small town called Fishs Eddy. There, they discovered an old barn filled with stacks of vintage restaurant dishware that had survived a fire. They bought the entire lot, hauled it back to their Manhattan apartment, and soon opened their first store on Broadway near Union Square.
What started as a serendipitous find has grown into an iconic New York brand known for its quirky charm, witty designs, and nostalgic nod to classic Americana. Fishs Eddy’s shelves are a treasure hunt of clever phrases, timeless dinnerware, and everyday pieces with personality — all infused with the brand’s signature sense of humor and heart.
At Lily & Marigold, we love Fishs Eddy for its ability to make the ordinary feel special — tableware that sparks conversation, brings joy to the table, and celebrates the art of gathering.
